Randwick High School

Co-educational facility upgrade

Project update | June 2024

Investing in our schools

As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education, the 2024-25 Budget is delivering record education funding, including $8.9 billion for new and upgraded schools. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education.

Randwick High School co-educational facility upgrade

A project is underway to merge Randwick Boys and Randwick Girls High Schools and provide new and upgraded infrastructure. This project will cater for the Randwick community now and into the future by supporting the schools' already high education standards.

This project will be staged across two milestones:

  1. Upgrades to Randwick Boys and Randwick Girls High Schools to prepare the schools to transition into one co-educational facility known as Randwick High School from Day 1 Term 1 2025.
  2. Continuing major capital works upgrade of the infrastructure at Randwick High School with an expected completion by Day 1 Term 1 2027.

Upgrades to current schools

The following works started in mid-2024 and are expected to be finished in the coming months:

  • Upgrade to the canteen, extension of the shade structure and new air conditioning at Randwick Boys High School.
  • Upgrade to the power supply, covered walkway and shade shelter to the multipurpose hall at Randwick Girls High School.

Building works to combine the two schools into one co-educational site are expected to start in Term 4 2024. The school will be operational as a co-educational facility from Day 1 Term 1 2025.

Major capital works upgrade

Planning for the major upgrade is continuing. TKD Architects continue to work on the masterplan and concept design in consultation with the school community and technical stakeholders.
