The Show

The School Show is Randwick High School’s annual production and a highlight of the school’s creative calendar. Each year, the show is built around a unique theme such as Australiana, books, iconic figures, or movies and features approximately 15 performance items that bring the theme to life through dance, singing, drama, costume, lighting and sound. It truly showcases all the magic theatre has to offer.

This exciting extracurricular activity brings together the talents and efforts of more than 200 students, supported by professional choreographers and dance teachers, school staff, parent volunteers and members of the wider community. Together, they collaborate to create a vibrant production that is unlike any other.

The School Show is performed at the NIDA Parade Theatre in Kensington, providing students with the opportunity to work with industry professionals and perform on a professional stage in front of an audience of more than 700 people.

Students can take part in The School Show in a variety of ways. They may join the Cast, performing through dance, singing or acting, or become part of the Crew, working behind the scenes to move large set pieces and manage handheld props during the performance.

Students who are not performing or working in crew can still be involved as Backstage Helpers, assisting with painting, costumes, set construction and supporting the backstage coordinator.

All performers are expected to contribute to the preparation and development of the show.
